Framed display of items from Houdini’s career in the motion picture industry, including a typed letter signed, “Houdini,” Sept. 15, 1921, on Houdini Picture Corporation letterhead, Brookdale watermarked paper, to magician George Schulte, thanking Schulte for sending his book “Patter Paragraphs”; a Houdini Picture Corporation stock certificate, made out to Elizabeth McGeary for 25 shares, and signed by Houdini as President (July 30, 1921), and an original photograph of Houdini supervising a movie shoot, pictured with his wife Bess and an assistant. Octavo, original red cloth stamped in black, full color frontispiece, illustrated with engravings and figures within the text. Paper Tricks, Paper Folding; Paper Tearing; and Paper Puzzles. Most are illustrated with "how-to" diagrams. Houdini's Pager Magic is written as though Houdini dictated it directly to the reader, as if he was explaining a magic trick to someone sitting across his dining room table.

Extremely rare and original typed letter on the personal letterhead of Houdini and signed by Harry Houdini in New York: December 19, 1923. Houdini writes to fellow magician Otto Waldmann, asking him to “Call me on the phone (Cathedral 8260) immediately.” On Houdini’s letterhead, with a very large and bold signature in pencil. A splendid Houdini artifact.

1925 houdini challenges local mediums! - the hartford daily times
December 1, 1925. The Harford Daily Times. Headline reads "HOUDINI Challenges Local Mediums! Warning To All Organizations of Spiritualists." Harry Houdini publicly called out eight well known Hartford, Conn Mediums to join him at the Parsons Theater to prove they were each a fraud. He also publicly wrote that the government should step in and stop these people from preying upon the gullibility of the public, which is now so loosely performed under the guise of religion. A fantastic and unique Houdini artifact.

May 23, 1925. Tit Bits publication. "When Magic Failed Me. Playing Tricks With Death." By Harry Houdini. A very old, interesting and limited Houdini written article. This rare article written by Houdini himself covers many close calls of death in his life, along with his thoughts on the subject. Tit Bits was a mass-circulation commercial publication on cheap newsprint located in London, England. It's first issue was started in 1881 and soon reached sales of between 400,000 and 600,000. Like a mini encyclopedia it presented a diverse range of information in an easy-to-read format, with the emphasis on human interest stories concentrating on drama and sensation. It also featured short stories and full-length fiction. Tit-Bits final edition was in 1984. An incredible documented record of Houdini history.
1926 HOUDINI SIGNED LETTER ON HOUDINI'S PERSONAL LETTERHEAD with challenge letter
Original typed letter on the personal letterhead of Houdini and signed by Harry Houdini in New York: February 9, 1926. Houdini typed signed letter to James Wobensmith, Regarding Spiritualism Tests. Houdini writes to invite the noted amateur magician, author of a book on magic patents, and patent attorney for Howard Thurston to the “tests” he will perform at the Chestnut Street Opera House in Philadelphia, “where the Christian Spiritual Union will endeavor to prove to the public intercommunication with the dead is a reality. Enclosed you will find a copy of the challenge.” Accompanying the letter is the referred to copy, stating that Houdini will forfeit $10,000 to anyone who can prove that communication between the living and the dead is possible without trickery. The judges as to the authenticity of the phenomena are to include “six clergymen, six newspaper-men, and six magicians.” SIGNED: HOUDINI. Two precious Houdini relics.

An interesting interview and article featuring the details of The Grim Game double plane crash and some rare personal information pertaining to Houdini. One fact mentioned was that Houdini's life was insured for $40,000 in case of his demise... Boys Cinema ran every week from December 1919 through May 1940.
